I am one of those people who dont watch TV. I've only got a TV for watching DVDs only. So sometimes I kinda missed out a lot of funny yet interesting commercial. I found this commercial through my friend's friend and it got me wanting to have a debit card with a picture that make me smile every time I look at it. I dont know if you guys have ever seen this commercial but I think it's very funny!

This baby needs your help

I went to the Ministry of Industry for a press conference on "Thai Industry after the economic crisis and the economic direction for 2010" this morning and on my way back to my office, I took a taxi (as I don’t drive in BKK), the taxi driver turned on a taxi radio. There was a male caller telling the DJ how much he desperately needed baby accessories for his newborn baby. He was asking if anyone would be kind to donate stuffs like diapers, clothes, toys, milk powder, milk bottles and other accessories because his family has basically got absolutely nothing. If you heard about his story, you would feel so sorry for his family and probably wanna help him as much as I do.

He’s currently working as a motorbike taxi driver but it doesn’t earn him that much because he is not registered in any driving area team (ไม่มีวินประจำ) Why? He cannot, as he wouldn’t be accepted. A year ago, he got in a fight he didn’t start. An ex bf of his wife came to have a quarrel with her about some old stories. What he didn’t see was that this psycho ex bf was carrying a huge knife (ประมาณมีดอิโต้ได้). He got in a fight and that guy cut both of his arms. The doctor could sew both of his arms to his body, but it is not the same anymore. His left arm cannot really operate or feel anything while his right arm could somewhat operate normally but not as good as a normal person. It took a year for him to be able to work again. His wife at that time couldn’t get a proper job but a cleaner. She is hired to clean the house in the village near where they live. It’s not everyday job, depends if anyone wanted to hire her and she could possibly earn about 100-150 baht ($3-$5) each time she got hired. She also had to rush home to take care of him.

Since he can now do some work, he would ride around Don muang area and see if anyone would need a ride. If lucky enough, he would probably be able to earn about 200-250 Baht ($5-$7). per a day. The couple has got a 4 years old daughter which cannot go to school yet because they could not afford anything but their apartment rent and other expenses. Today, his gf is giving birth to another baby girl. They’ve got absolutely nothing for this newborn baby, not even clothes. He’s going to pick up his girlfriend and the baby later today. So he’s wondering if anyone would be kind to donate baby accessories to his family. If you had some baby stuffs that your baby no longer needs, please feel free to donate to Mr.Kanoksin’s family.

Please call taxi radio 1644 for further information (in regarding to a matter of Mr. Kanoksin) if you wish to donate baby accessories or even money.

My Fantastic Loykratong Day

I was all excited about Loykratong this year because I missed it last year. I didn't even know that it was Loykratong yesterday until someone posted their status on Facebook that it's a Loykratong day on Monday Embarassed Everyone was so busy that no one had got time to make any Kratong. For me, it doesn't matter as I suck in doing this kinda stuff anyway.

So we decided to meet up around 8pm as per Babe and Anne private discussion. I was late again, unintentionally of course. I arrived our meeting point, in front of Channel Store, Emporium, around 08.30pm. Surprisingly, everyone was already there except for Babe. We waited and waited, there was no sign of her. She tried to call her, she didn't even pick up her call (I'm sure she was afraid that we were all gonna scold at her hehe) So we all decided to leave to the park without her. As soon as we got to the park deciding what Kratong we should buy, Babe showed up with 2 other friends, Tammi and Tuck. I was so thrilled to see them as I hadnt seen them like forever!

Can you imagine a group of 9 crazy talkative Thai girls walking altogether in a lousy crowded park would be like? Yes that's how we appeared to be in everyone's eyes. We were so alarmed and screamed at even a small firework lol We talked non-stop as if we haven't seen each other for years (in fact, we only saw each other on Halloween lol) It was so much fun really. We also bumped into some other TFers like i4God, Idar73 and AnnPC Smile I met a few other non-TFer friends too. This is one thing I love about Bangkok. People always come out to few busy places on special occasion like this and there you see, some familiar faces.

We went to eat in Sukhumvit soi 38 afterwards. Some went home, some went clubbing. I couldn't decide if i wanted to go out or not. Then, I realized I had to interview the Dean of ABAC school of management the next morning, so I went home. I came home with a smile of my face feeling that it was definitely a good night with great companies. Hopefully we all could do stuffs like this altogether again.

Loykratong @ Benjasiri Park

Happy Loykratong Everyone!

Where are u guys going tonight?

I'm thinking Benjasiri park next to the Emporium like years before. I've missed this festival so much cos I was stuck in Koh Samui last year and there was flood everywhere. I almost flooded myself right in front of my place lol

This is our pic from 2007. I was late (again!) so I had to share a kratong with them haha

This year, Babe wanna meet up at 8pm but I'm not sure if I'd be there on there lol You guys are welcomed to join us!

You can also do it online via www.loikrathong.net or loykratong.kapook.com na ja ^^

My most memorable Kratong festival would be the one from 2006. You can see Babe's report as below ^^
